The festivities kick off at 3:00 PM at Markey Park (3301 Royal Street) in the Bywater neighborhood. This is your chance to immerse yourself in Mexican culture with lively music, delicious food and drinks, captivating dance performances, creative arts and crafts, and fun face painting. As the sun begins to set, a solemn yet incredibly colorful procession will begin at 7:00 PM, also starting from Markey Park. Hundreds of calaveras (skeletons) will make their way through the streets, culminating at the historic St Roch Cemetery #1 (1725 St Roch Avenue) in the St Roch neighborhood. The procession concludes with the creation of a beautiful ofrenda (offering/altar), followed by the traditional sounds of mariachi music, honoring those who have passed on to the spiritual realm.\

This mezcla (mix) of tradition and local flavor is an event you won’t want to miss. Come celebrate, remember, and experience the rich cultural tapestry that makes New Orleans so special!
