The Gran Asado Spring Picnic brought the vibrant taste and culture of Argentina to Lafreniere Park on Sunday, April 12. Hosted by Casa Argentina, the gathering was a joyful community celebration featuring a delicious feast of savory barbecue, fresh salads, classic Argentinian beef empanadas, and delicatessen-style desserts topped with the best dulce de leche. Attendees enjoyed the afternoon and the live music performance by Julio & Cesar Band, reflecting the mission of Casa Argentina, a non-profit organization founded in 1982 to preserve and raise awareness of the Argentine community and culture in New Orleans.
Casa Argentina has long sponsored educational and philanthropic activities, hosting cultural events like Noches de Tango, poetry readings, and art exhibitions. We’re thrilled to share moments from the successful picnic, which reinforces the organization’s commitment to community. We’re now reliving those warm, delicious moments!
