The holidays are always the best excuse to travel, rest, and get together with family, so airports become very busy during Christmas. Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is expecting around 28,000 passengers per day, so to make travel from MSY as easy as pie, they have these travel tips:
– Make your parking reservation in your preferred parking facility online at least 24 hours in advance at park.flymsy.com
– Be sure to arrive at least 2 hours before your departure time.
– Remember to put gifts in bags to avoid wrapping them again if TSA has to check the item.
You can bring food in your hand luggage, such as baked goods, meats (frozen, cooked or uncooked, stuffing, casseroles, Mac ‘n Cheese, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit (check restrictions for foreign travel), candy, and spices, but not all food is allowed. If you bring sauces, spreads, gravy, wines and spirits, preserves, jams, syrup, or jellies, they should be packed in your checked bag.
– If you want to receive or say goodbye to visitors in a unique way, you can reserve an MSY Guest Pass to go through security, be with them at the gate, and visit the restaurants and shops at the airport. You must reserve 24 hours in advance at Guest Pass
– Starting January 8, 2025, all U.S. travelers visiting or transiting through the UK must have a valid ETA.
Eligible non-Europeans visiting the UK will need an ETA starting January 8, 2025, and eligible European visitors will need an ETA beginning April 2, 2025. Find out more on gov.UK.
